Due to low abundance of coho salmon, the YDNWR Manager, after consultation with KRITFC In-Season Managers, determined that federal management is necessary for conservation.
Effective August 7 at 4 pm, ADF&G will close fishing in Kuskokwim River Sections 1-3 to protect coho salmon.
In Subsistence Sections 1-5, not including the tributaries in Sections 1-3: Effective noon 12:00 p.m. Monday, July 13th, subsistence fishing will remain open until further notice.
This Temporary Special Action (04-KSCS-26-02) rescinds portions of the previous salmon fishing restrictions announced in Temporary Special Action- 04-KSCS-26-01 within the Kuskokwim River Drainage: Chum Salmon management within all Federal public waters, and Chinook Salmon management within the Kuskokwim River mainstem (not including tributaries), is now rescinded.
