Regardless of ADF&G’s Fishery Announcement #7, IT IS ILLEGAL to fish on the mainstem Kuskokwim using gillnet gear on June 28. Federal law enforcement is on the river, and you may be at risk of citation if you fish on June 28.
Effective August 7 at 4 pm, ADF&G will close fishing in Kuskokwim River Sections 1-3 to protect coho salmon.
In Subsistence Sections 1-5, not including the tributaries in Sections 1-3: Effective noon 12:00 p.m. Monday, July 13th, subsistence fishing will remain open until further notice.
This Temporary Special Action (04-KSCS-26-02) rescinds portions of the previous salmon fishing restrictions announced in Temporary Special Action- 04-KSCS-26-01 within the Kuskokwim River Drainage: Chum Salmon management within all Federal public waters, and Chinook Salmon management within the Kuskokwim River mainstem (not including tributaries), is now rescinded.
