After consultation with KRITFC's In-Season Managers, the Yukon Delta National Wildlife Refuge Manager, Spencer Rearden, issued another announcement for subsistence fishing in federal waters of the Kuskokwim River. These opportunities are for Federally Qualified Subsistence Users.

On April 5 and 6, 2023, we brought our entire KRITFC body together in Anchorage for our Annual Meeting and Elections. With 21 of our Commissioners, both Elder Advisors, and our team of staff and consultants gathered in one place, we had two days of robust dialogue and visioning this next year for our fish and our people.

While we are heartened to see the North Pacific Fishery Management Council bring together this diverse Salmon Bycatch Committee, we left its first meeting without any concrete steps toward reducing salmon bycatch, particularly of chum salmon.
